What to do if the leaves of the euphorbia pulcherrima turn black

What to do if the leaves of the euphorbia pulcherrima turn black

1. Reason

1. Not adapting to the environment

If this kind of flower in your home is newly bought, it has undergone a long-distance transportation and has not yet recovered, so its leaves will turn black. Moreover, it is a tropical green plant that requires high temperature and high humidity. It is difficult to meet such conditions throughout the year in most areas of our country, so it is difficult to avoid the leaves turning black.

2. The plant is aging

It will only bloom once in its lifetime. Some of my friends' homes have already bloomed this flower. After the flowering period, it will slowly age and its leaves will turn black. If this is the case, you can choose to throw it away or wait until its shoots grow and then divide it.

3. Improper watering

If it is not watered properly, its leaves will turn black. Generally, when watering it, you only need to sprinkle water on the core of the leaves. If the air is too dry, you also need to sprinkle water around it. However, there cannot be too much water in the pot, otherwise it will cause the leaves to turn black or even the roots to rot.

2. Solution

If the weather is hot and humid, or the temperature is relatively low, its leaves will also become dry and black, so the soil should be kept moist and the leaves can be watered once or twice a day. The water should be clean, and you can also sprinkle fertilizer water with a very low proportion. If it has finished blooming and is starting to age, you can only throw it away. It is difficult to help it recover.

3. Maintenance matters

Generally, as long as you place it in a windy and sunny area and give it the water it needs, it will grow well. We need to remember these aspects and take good care of it:

1. If there is no ventilation and the temperature and humidity are very high, it will be easily attacked by diseases and insects. If it is a disease, you can spray carbendazim, if it is an insect, you can sprinkle omethoate. You can also buy special medicine for this purpose on the market and bury it in the pot, which will have a better effect. The treatment should be carried out outside the house, otherwise the medicine will pollute the air in the home.

2. If you want to water it, do it before noon. In summer, water needs to be added in the morning and evening. Pour water into the leaf cup, wash the leaves at night, and sprinkle water on the surrounding air to increase humidity.
