What should I do if the flowers wilt? Blindly replenishing water may have the opposite effect!

What should I do if the flowers wilt? Blindly replenishing water may have the opposite effect!

Water droop

There is a baby. Huahua has advised her many times that when watering flowers, you must water them evenly. But she just wouldn't listen. She just watered, watered, and watered! Look, water is accumulating in the flowerpot!

If there is too much water in the soil, the roots will not be able to breathe and cannot absorb water normally, so they will wilt. So babies, you must listen to Huahua’s advice!

Remedy:

1. Dig out 1/3 of the wet soil, replace it with dry and breathable new soil, and cut off some tender branches and leaves to reduce water evaporation. Move the wilted flowers after changing the soil to a location with scattered light to avoid direct strong winds.

2. Spray water mist on the leaves once every evening to hydrate and moisturize the leaves. Apply liquid fertilizer once every 4 days. You can use special liquid fertilizer or fermented rice water. After two weeks, the wilted flowers and plants will recover.

Drought

Although flowers may wilt due to water, there are also many cases of flowers wilting due to drought. Wilting is caused by too little watering.

Especially now, the autumn wind is blowing, and the weather is becoming drier and drier. You still know to turn on the humidifier and drink tea, so why can't you water the flowers? Look at your flower pots, they are almost as dry as the Sahara Desert!

Remedy:

1. Generally speaking, the leaves wither and wilt from the top downwards, the branches shrink, and it looks like it is dying. That means there is no escape from the drought.

2. Do not water the plant in large quantities immediately. It is best to fill a pot of water every morning from the moment you notice the plant wilting, place it next to the pot, and water it once in the evening. Spray the air around wilting plants with a mist of water each evening. After a week, you can resume normal watering.

Wind wilted

The autumn wind is indeed very strong. Wasn’t there a news report the day before yesterday that the water heater on the roof was blown away? On such a windy day, you let your delicate little flower bear it alone, no wonder it is wilting!

Remedy:

1. Immediately move the flowers and plants that have wilted due to strong winds to a sheltered place and provide appropriate shade. Prune off severely wilted branches and leaves to reduce water loss.

2. Spray water on the leaves every evening to replenish moisture and restore vitality.

Fat and droopy

If people eat a lot of meat and fish every day, it will definitely cause gastrointestinal dysfunction and lead to indigestion. If flowers are fertilized heavily every day, they will not be able to bear it.

Too much fertilizer will cause "root burn", and the water in the flowers will flow back into the soil, causing the leaves to wilt and turn yellow at the very least, and the roots to rot and die at the worst.

Remedy:

1. If the root burn is minor, water the plant abundantly to dilute the fertilizer. If the roots are severely burned, it is best to change the soil.

2. At the same time, move the flowers to a shaded and ventilated location, spray water once every morning and evening, and do not apply any fertilizer within one month. In about a month, the wilted branches and leaves will regain their health and vitality.

Insects droop

It's so annoying when flowers attract insects! The day before yesterday Huahua received a large bag of soil for breeding from a neighbor. There may be insect eggs in it. The bunch of lettuce that Huahua planted with it was all given to the little bugs. Tears!

Moreover, if pests such as bark beetles and longhorn beetles are attracted and bite the main trunk and conductive tissue, it will cause poor water supply, causing the plants to wilt or even die!

Remedy:

1. For small-scale insect pests, you can use some local methods, such as spraying it with tobacco water, chili water, or garlic water, or wiping it with a rag dipped in alcohol.

2. If the pest is serious, it is best to use special pesticides to eliminate the pests. If pesticides cannot save the plant, cut off relatively healthy branches for cuttings and grafting.

Heat wilted

The weather in the north is getting cooler now, but the south is still hot and humid. Therefore, flower lovers in the south should be careful not to let their flowers wilt due to the heat! Otherwise, if the leaves start to wilt, curl and become brittle, it will be too late!

Remedy:

1. Immediately move the wilted flowers to a cool and ventilated location, and appropriately cut off the branches and leaves that are severely wilted. Spray with water to replenish moisture.

2. If the plant itself is too large to be easily moved from the balcony to another location, then when the sun is very strong at noon, give it a piece of cardboard to provide shade.

Frozen

Witting from freezing seems to be a long way off...but Huahua has to remind everyone that the temperature in Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang, Heilongjiang and other regions has been hovering around 0 degrees Celsius!

In an environment below 10 degrees Celsius, flowers and plants will lose their luster, their branches and leaves will wilt, and even die.

Remedy:

1. Bring the flowers grown outdoors or on the balcony back indoors, such as by the window in the living room or on the bay window sill, which are good places to shelter from the wind and cold.

2. Cut off the branches and leaves of flowers that are severely damaged by frost. Be careful not to place it near an air conditioning vent or heat source, as that will make the original frostbite more severe.
