What to do if lily buds don’t grow well

Lily buds not growing well

Reason 1: Yellowing of flower buds

When growing lilies, if there is a lack of water, excessive watering, or if pests and diseases are not treated in time, the flower buds will turn yellow and the lilies will not grow well.

Solution

Fertilization: During the growth process, lilies only need to be fertilized once every half a month to ensure the normal growth of the flower buds.

Water: Add an appropriate amount of water according to the humidity of the potting soil. You don’t need to water it when you see the soil is slightly moist.

Light: Lilies require more shade in the early stages of growth, so proper shading should also be provided during the bud period, but sufficient light must still be ensured.

Reason 2: The flower buds turn black

If the lily buds are not properly cared for, they will turn black, which means the lily will not bloom.

This is caused by insufficient light;

Also, the flower buds do not receive enough nutrients during their growth process, which means that the leaves cannot produce sufficient nutrients.

Solution

The reason why the flower buds turn black is insufficient nutrients and light, so you should first move the plant to a place with sufficient light, but not direct sunlight.

You can apply fertilizer so that the leaves can fully absorb it, thereby providing the nutrients needed by the flower buds, which will gradually restore the health of the flower buds.

Reason 3: Flower buds fall off

The biggest factor causing flower buds to grow poorly is falling off. However, due to insufficient nutrients in the root system, the roots cannot provide the nutrients needed for branch and leaf growth, so the flower buds will fall off.

Solution

You can check the roots. If you find that the roots are small and not full, you can add some growth nutrient solution or apply fertilizer, but pay attention to the amount of application. You can apply it according to the size of the plant.
