How to grow Huangli to bloom out of the pot?

Sedum, also known as "Yellow Jade Lotus", is a perennial succulent plant of the Crassulaceae family and the Sedum genus. Its plump fleshy leaves are arranged alternately in a rosette shape. It is small, cute, elegant and charming. Many people like this succulent plant. It is cheap, easy to reproduce, strong, hardy and easy to grow. So how do you grow Huangli to a size that is beyond your pot? Let’s take a look below.

1. Pot soil

If you want to grow Huangli to bloom out of the pot, you have to choose the right potting soil. Because Huangli likes to grow in relatively loose, breathable, well-drained, humus-rich sandy soil , you can mix five parts of leaf mold, three parts of garden soil, and two parts of sandy soil evenly. Disinfect the soil in time.

2. Lighting

Adequate light can help the yellow lily grow fully, so if you want to grow it out of the pot, you must provide it with sufficient sunlight. First of all, it can get 8-10 hours of sunlight in spring, autumn and winter. In summer, appropriate shading measures should be taken to prevent leaf burns caused by excessive sunlight.

3. Fertilization

Huangli needs appropriate amounts of nutrients to grow out of the pot. For example, during the growth period, you can apply decomposed organic fertilizer once every half a month. When entering the autumn and winter seasons, liquid fertilizer can be applied once a month, and fertilization can be stopped after winter. Be careful not to splash fertilizer onto the leaves, and do not apply concentrated or raw fertilizer.

4. Watering

For Huang Li, if she wants the flower to bloom out of the pot, proper watering is a very important step. During daily watering, you should first observe whether the soil in the pot is dry before watering. You should follow the principle of not watering if it is not dry, and watering thoroughly when you do. The temperature is too high in summer and the water evaporates rapidly, so the watering frequency does not need to be too high. Generally, watering 4-5 times a month is sufficient.

5. Temperature

Generally speaking, the most suitable growth temperature for Huangli is around 15-28 degrees Celsius. When the temperature is high in summer, shading and cooling are required, and the temperature must be controlled below 30 degrees Celsius. In winter, you need to keep warm and prevent cold. If the temperature drops below 5 degrees Celsius, the plants will be frozen.

6. Pests and diseases

Huangli has fewer diseases and pests. After the summer, spraying the plants with carbendazim, thiophanate-methyl, etc. can prevent black rot in the plants. Usually, you should ventilate more and get more sunlight, which can effectively prevent the growth of germs and bacteria.

7. Repotting

Huangli needs to be repotted every 1-2 years. When repotting, be careful not to damage the roots, and disinfect in time after pruning rotten roots. Finally, replant. In addition, during the breeding process, the soil can be loosened every once in a while to ensure that the roots can breathe and ventilate fully.

8. Reproduction

Huangli is often propagated by leaf cuttings. In spring and autumn, take the full leaves of a healthy plant and spread them flat on slightly moist sand, then move the pot to a cool place for maintenance. After the leaves have taken root, cover the roots with a little soil.
