Division

The growth process of Pearl Bush is characterized by the easy sprouting of root tillers, and it can be reproduced from March to April in early spring. Choose plants with relatively strong growth and development, no diseases and pests, and many tillers as mother plants. The separated root tillers should have complete roots. If the lateral roots of the root tillers are thin and numerous, they should be properly pruned when planted. This method of reproduction has a higher survival rate, takes shape faster, and is theoretically more convenient to manage, but the number of reproductions is limited. After division, water the plant and move it to a slightly shaded place. After a week, gradually place it in the sun for normal maintenance.

Cuttings

Cuttings are more suitable for large-scale reproduction and can be carried out all year round. For cuttings, choose mature branches of the current or biennial year from healthy plants, cut them into about 15-20 cm long, and leave 4-5 buds or leaves. When taking cuttings, two-thirds of them need to be inserted into the soil, leaving only one or two buds or leaves on the top of the soil. The cut of the cuttings should be flat and cut into a horseshoe shape. Press down the soil at the base of the cuttings and water them thoroughly. After that, spray water 1-2 times a day to keep the soil moist. After 20 days, reduce the number of spraying to prevent branch rot.

Layering

In March and April, bend the branches around the mother plant and press them directly into the soil. You can also ring-cut or incise the parts pressed into the soil to promote rapid rooting. After new roots grow, they will be separated from the mother plant. Transplanting is possible during the spring and autumn tree planting seasons.
