Methods for promoting and delaying flowering of butterfly flowers

Measures to promote flowering

Sowing is done in mid-to-late August, and transplanting is done in the ground in mid-to-late October. It will pass the vernalization stage in a naturally low temperature environment, but the harm of early frost should be prevented. From mid-November to mid-February of the following year, it can be planted in a greenhouse or potted indoors, and the temperature should be 15-18℃, with the night temperature around 10℃. When the light is insufficient, artificial light can be appropriately supplemented. It can bloom from mid-to-late December to mid-March of the following year. Increase the use of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers, get enough sunlight, and pay attention to air circulation.

How to delay flowering

Flowers for Children's Day

Plant the seedlings in the ground beds and remove the covering in mid-to-early March. Expose them to full sunlight, control the moisture, and spray water appropriately when it is too dry. Water once in early April, water thoroughly and apply fertilizer. You can transplant it once, and new leaves will sprout. Some of the yellow leaves will fall off by themselves.

Flowers for National Day

After soaking the seeds in late May, keep the soil moist, wait for the seeds to swell and sprout slightly, place them at a low temperature of 2-4℃ for 1-2 weeks, then sow them in the seedbed, shade them, maintain air circulation, prevent rain and waterlogging, and pay attention to preventing high temperatures in summer. In September, it is planted in flower beds or pots. It blooms from mid-September to mid-October, but the flowers are not as dense as those in spring. During the growing season, a small amount of nitrogen fertilizer should be applied, and phosphorus and potassium fertilizers should be used instead.
