Prevention and treatment of diseases and pests of Christmas cactus, is it easy to be infected by diseases and pests?

1. Diseases

1. Rot disease: Christmas cactus is not easily infected by diseases and pests, but problems will arise if it is not properly maintained. If infected with rot, the three-edged sword will rot. There are many reasons for the disease. Not paying attention to soaking in water during maintenance will also cause this problem. If rot occurs, prepare a sterilized knife to cut off the rotten area, and then spray it with carbendazim solution for disinfection.

2. Anthracnose: This disease mainly harms the stem nodes, affecting normal growth and reducing the aesthetics. Precautions need to be taken before planting. Prepare potassium permanganate solution in advance and soak the plants in it for about an hour. After the disease occurs, spray the plants with drugs such as charcoal-based wettable powder in time.

3. Botrytis cinerea: If Christmas cactus is accidentally infected with botrytis cinerea, it will harm the flowers, stems and leaves, causing water-soaked rot. After discovering the disease, cut off the diseased parts in time and spray the wettable powder of chlorhexidine every few days. Continuous spraying is required 3-4 times.

4. Other diseases: In addition to the above-mentioned diseases, it may also be infected with leaf blight, root rot, leaf spot, etc.

2. Pests

1. Scale insects: The possibility of infection by insect pests is not high and it is not very easy to be infected. The appearance of scale insects will harm the leaf stems and flower buds. Apply phosmet emulsifiable concentrate and omethoate to spray continuously for 3-4 times.

2. Aphids: They mainly harm flower buds and tender leaves, and can be killed by spraying with dimethoate emulsion or chlorpyrifos.

3. Red spider mites: Pests will suck sap, causing weak growth. You can increase ventilation and use diazinon and pyrethroid emulsion to spray continuously 3-4 times.
