Purple crocus pest control

Purple crocus pest control

Corruption

Spoilage usually occurs during the germination stage and is caused by bacteria; it is particularly serious when the new shoots are 2 to 3 months old. It first occurs at the roots of the leaves, which turn reddish-brown after being invaded by bacteria. Then the tips of the leaves begin to slowly turn yellow, and finally the entire leaf turns yellow. The rhizomes under the soil will also turn brown, and the fibrous roots will slowly change from their original white color to black-purple. Eventually the plant rots and dies.

Prevention and treatment methods

Before sowing, soak the seeds in lime water for a while, take them out and wash them with clean water. If rot disease occurs after planting, the diseased parts should be removed in time and then disinfected with lime powder. Spray disinfectant can also be used for prevention and treatment.

Rot

When purple crocus rots, the leaves will turn yellow first, then turn black inside and rot completely. But the only changes you'll see on the outside are its leaves. Rot usually occurs when there is standing water or when there are pests in the soil.

Prevention and treatment methods

Mix lime powder with the soil before sowing. For pests under the soil, you can pour insecticide on the soil.

Viral diseases

Virus damage can cause the leaves of purple crocus to curl up, and the color of the leaves will also fade and become deformed.

Prevention and treatment methods

Make sure the seeds are healthy before planting. Then spray it with insect repellent to prevent infection.
