Disease and Pest Control of Daylily

Disease and Pest Control of Daylily

Rust

When daylily is attacked by rust, spots will appear on the leaves and flower stems infected with the bacteria, and the surface will curl up. Generally, the entire leaf will turn yellow, and even the leaves on the plant will die. The solution is to apply fertilizer appropriately and drain the water after the rain to avoid water accumulation or excessive moisture in the soil. Once rust is found, you can spray it with carbendazim solution every 7 to 10 days, 2 to 3 times will be enough.

Leaf blight

Leaf blight usually harms the leaves of the plant. At first, white circular spots will appear, which will gradually dry up. If it is too moist, black mold will form. The specific treatment method is to spray chlorothalonil on the leaves, with the same number and frequency of use as above.

anthrax

The areas affected by anthracnose are mainly the leaves, where the leaf tips will gradually change from dark green to dark yellow and produce small black spots. Even the leaves may die. The specific method of prevention and control is to spray 1:1:100 Bordeaux mixture or thiophanate-methyl solution for timely prevention and control at the beginning.

Red Spider

When red spider mites harm daylilies, they suck juice from the leaves, causing gray spots to appear. In severe cases, the plant may die. You can spray with 2000 times diluted 73% cypermethrin.

aphid

Aphids usually cause damage in May, sucking sap from leaves to flowers, causing the flowers to fall off. It is recommended to spray with dimethoate.
