Pests of Anemone and Their Control

The main insect pests in Anemone cultivation are aphids, thrips and cutworms. When controlling insect pests of anemone, you can use common pesticides. The soil can be strictly disinfected before planting, which can reduce the occurrence and spread of pests to a certain extent.

Diseases and their control of anemone

Common diseases of Anemone include rot, damping-off, gray mold and powdery mildew.

Rot

Rot diseases usually develop and spread in wet conditions. It is a disease caused by the fungus Pythium. Rot can cause germinating seeds to rot or the roots of plants to become diseased, followed by water-soaked rot in the roots and stems, which can slow the growth of the plants or even cause their death. . To prevent and control rot, the first thing to do is to disinfect the soil. You can mix pentonitrobenzene or soil insecticide with the seeds to sterilize and disinfect the soil. If the disease has already occurred, spray sterilization with thiophanate-methyl.

Damping-off

It is caused by Rhizoctonia solani. Its symptoms are brown leaves with more obvious depressions. Diseased plants will produce brown round-shaped mycelium clusters. To prevent and control damping-off disease, Chipco 26019 can be used to kill it.

Botrytis cinerea

It is a disease that can infect young seedlings and also occur during the flowering period. This is mainly because higher air humidity and water film on the surface of the plants facilitate the infection of Botrytis cinerea to the plants. To prevent and control gray mold, you can use thiophanate-methyl and carbendazim to spray and kill it.

powdery mildew

Powdery mildew is caused by powdery mildew infection. The main symptoms of the disease are spiral curling of the leaves, circular white spots on the leaves, stems and flower buds, and in severe cases the flower buds can stop growing. This disease can be prevented and controlled by spraying 800 times dilution of triadimefon. If the condition is serious, spray it again after 7-8 days. Three consecutive sprays can basically control the condition.
