Six Disease Prevention and Control Methods for Daphne koreana

Daphne koreana stem rot

The main affected part of stem rot is the root, which gradually spreads to the stem and is difficult to detect in the early stages. When the disease occurs, the roots will turn black and rot, but the woody stems will remain normal and the leaves will remain green and will not fall off until death. In the later stages of the disease, the plants will suddenly die and be difficult to save.

Solution: Strengthen maintenance. Keep the soil moist in summer and autumn, rather wet than dry, and ensure adequate water supply. Vigorously growing branches should be pruned in time, and diseased leaves and branches should be cleaned up; for diseased plants, the diseased plants and the pots and soil should be thrown away, and other plants should be sprayed with fungicides.

Daphne koreana leaf spot

When leaf spot disease occurs in Osmanthus fragrans, small green spots appear on the leaves. Later, the spots gradually expand and black spots appear. The disease usually occurs from April to September. The leaves at the bottom of the plant will become sick first and then gradually spread upwards. In severe cases, all the leaves will fall off, the plant will grow weaker, or even die.

Solution: Water properly to prevent water stains on the leaves, apply more phosphorus and potassium fertilizers to enhance the plant's disease resistance; remove diseased leaves promptly to avoid infecting other plants. Spray the pesticide in time when the disease occurs. You can choose mancozeb, carbendazim, and thiophanate-methyl, and spray once every 7 to 10 days.

Daphne koreana wilt

When the disease occurs, the leaves of Osmanthus fragrans will turn yellow, brown and dry, and the plant will gradually turn yellow from top to bottom. The main time of disease occurrence is after the temperature rises in spring, and it may occur during the flowering period. The pathogen invades through the roots and is particularly serious during seasons with excessively high temperatures. Generally, it only takes 15 to 45 days from onset of the disease to death, and the effect is obvious.

Solution: Remove dead leaves from the flower pots in time and disinfect the roots with formalin solution every month. Spray disinfectant in time at the early stage of the disease, once a week for 5 to 6 times in a row, and the effect will be obvious.

Daphne koreana virus disease

When the disease occurs, dark and light spots will appear on the leaves, the leaves will shrink and curl, the growth of the plant will slow down, and it will be difficult to form flower buds. New leaves will fall off, and in severe cases all the leaves will die. The disease is more serious in spring and autumn.

Solution: Control water and apply fertilizer, pay attention to ventilation and light, promote the healthy growth of plants, and enhance disease resistance. After the plants become sick, they should be isolated immediately and the objects they have come into contact with should be disinfected.
