Diseases and prevention methods of dianthus

Diseases and prevention methods of dianthus

Leaf blight

symptom

The tips of the affected leaves turn yellow at first, and the disease gradually spreads to the base of the leaves. Finally, all the leaves will wither. The edges of the lesions are not obvious, and they turn grayish white in the later stage with many small black spots. Although the leaves of dianthus don't have much function, flowers always feel weird without leaves.

Prevention and treatment methods

Remove diseased leaves promptly and pull out seriously diseased plants and burn them.

Spraying 1500 times diluted 50% chlorhexidine or 800 times diluted 50% carbendazim has a better prevention and control effect.

Brown spot

symptom

Brown spot disease mainly harms leaves, stems and pedicels. Nearly circular spots will appear on the leaves of the affected plants, which are grayish white in the middle and have yellowish-brown bumps on the edges. The spots merge with each other and the leaves gradually dry up. In addition, when the environmental humidity is high, many black mold layers will appear on the lesions.

Prevention and treatment methods

To reduce the source of infection, after the flowers wither, clean up the dead parts promptly and throw them away in a group to give germs no chance.

During the maintenance process, apply appropriate amounts of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers to enhance the plant's disease resistance.

Spray the medicine in time. When the disease is serious, do not choose only one type of spraying agent. You can use 2 to 3 types alternately to prevent the bacteria from producing antibodies. In the early stage of the disease, spray prochloraz emulsifiable concentrate or Guoguang Yintai once every 7 to 10 days, 2 to 3 times will be enough.

Fusarium Wilt

symptom

The pathogen is mainly produced in the roots. When the disease occurs, the roots will slowly wither, resulting in the loss of leaves and or more nutrients and decreased resistance. As the pathogen spreads, the stems will gradually shrink and become soft, and the leaves near the rhizomes will turn yellow and droop. The disease will progress rapidly and the plant will soon wither. When the environment is humid, white mycelium will be produced on the rhizome.

Prevention and treatment methods

Choose healthy plants for planting, strictly disinfect them before planting, and do not use diseased soil.

Clean up the remaining dead leaves on the surface of the potting soil in time and clean it thoroughly.

Remove diseased plants promptly to avoid affecting the growth of other plants. After repotting, spray potassium permanganate, 3% ferrous sulfate, or 500 times diluted 70% dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane in time to avoid recurrence of the disease.
