How to deal with ants in flower pots

How to deal with ants in flower pots

1. Replace the potting soil

The most direct way to deal with ants in flowerpots is to replace the soil, take out the plants, disinfect the flowerpots, then replace the soil with new soil and replant them. Later, adjust the maintenance methods, provide a suitable environment, and disinfect regularly to avoid the appearance of ants.

2. Spraying

Ants have a strong reproductive capacity. If you find ants in a flowerpot, you must deal with it as soon as possible. You can dilute the pest control agent with water and spray it on the soil. It will be completely eliminated in about three days. Be careful not to spray the pesticide on the leaves, as this may cause yellowing leaves and affect growth.

3. Buried Drug Treatment

The soil is the ants' nest. If you want to completely eliminate them, you can bury medicine in the soil. You can choose dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane tablets as the medicine, bury them in places where ants often come and go, and then water them in an appropriate amount to dilute the medicine. This can also kill ants and prevent root rot.

4. Trapping and killing method

Ants like to move around in nutrient-rich soil environments. When dealing with them, you can put bones or sugar substances around the plants. The ants will come out of their nests to absorb the substances, and then you can spray them with pest control agents. Spray them every 5 days.

5. Killing cigarette butts

When dealing with it, you can take apart the cigarette butts in your daily life, take out the tobacco and soak it in warm water. The water temperature should be about 50 degrees. Soak it for one or two times and when the color of the water turns brown, spray it around the plants. Use it several times in a row to kill them all.
