Disease and Pest Control of Michelia chuanxiensis

Disease and Pest Control of Michelia chuanxiensis

1. Scale Insects

Generally, the insect that is most likely to infest Michelia chuanxiensis is scale insect. This kind of insect is really annoying. It likes to suck the juice of the plant, which will directly cause great damage to its new shoots and even leaf veins. Generally, this kind of insect appears on the branches and the back of the leaves. At this time we must be able to kill it quickly. Generally, we can use a small brush to remove them, and then spray these insects with petroleum emulsion prepared with water. This way, we can cause greater damage to the pests and diseases.

2. Cutworms

This type of pest usually appears from mid-April to late May, and it usually hides in the soil during the day. It will come out at night, and usually bite the small buds that have not yet grown, or bite the base of the seedlings directly out of the ground. Sometimes it will secretly climb onto the seedlings and bite their tender stems and small buds, which will directly affect the growth of the seedlings. Therefore, we must take timely prevention and treatment measures. When preventing and controlling, we must completely remove the weeds and kill their eggs completely to prevent the larvae hidden in the weeds from transferring to the seedlings. Usually in the morning, when there is a shortage of seedlings in the nursery or when the seedlings are broken, we dig up the soil around them and start catching the insects. Or you can spray the medicine.

3. Other prevention and control methods

We can strengthen the cultivation management in normal times, and use fertilizers and water reasonably. In addition, we should pay attention to reasonable ventilation to make it more light-transmissive. If we see sick leaves, we should gather them together and burn them to eliminate the source. Only in this way can the plant grow better. Therefore, we must pay attention to insect prevention and control in our daily lives and not be careless or even ignore it.
