Strawberry Pest Control

Strawberry Pest Control

Strawberry pests and diseases

The most common strawberry pests include aphids, whiteflies, mites, nematodes, etc. Generally, the better and fuller the fruit, the more likely it is to suffer from insect diseases. Insect pests will bite the strawberry fruits, damage their leaves, cause poor growth of strawberries, and affect flowering and fruiting, so effective prevention and control are necessary.

Aphid control methods

To eliminate pests and allow strawberries to grow normally.

first

To reduce the number of insect eggs during the winter, the larvae and eggs of insect pests in the potting soil should be thoroughly removed in late autumn. Weeds should also be removed, and diseased and old leaves should be removed to ensure the healthy growth of the plants.

Secondly

You can design a yellow board and apply engine oil on it to lure and kill pests such as aphids and whiteflies, or you can set up an insect-proof net at the vent to block it from the flowers, so that no pests will take the opportunity to grow on the plants and lay eggs.

For aphid pests, you can use gray mulch strips with silver to repel aphids and prevent them from approaching the plants.

Whitefly control methods

First, you can release the Aphididae wasp to effectively control whiteflies and prevent them from continuing to reproduce and grow.

Secondly, use fumigants such as fumigant and DDT to kill whiteflies pests.

Or you can use medicine to spray. Just spray 50% aphid-repellent mist or 2000 times diluted 50% anti-aphid wettable powder about twice.

Mite control

The pest control method for mites is to use drugs directly, such as 5000-8000 times diluted pyrethroid, which has low residual toxicity and strong contact killing effect, and spray it twice every 5 days until the harvest.
