Rose Pests and Control Methods

Rose Pests and Control Methods

Pests: Scarab beetles

Hazard manifestations

Beetles mainly appear on leaves. Older people will say that insects on leaves are a sign of health, meaning that the plants have not been sprayed with pesticides. However, one beetle means health, but many beetles mean a disaster.

Scarab beetles mainly harm roots, leaves, flower buds and other parts, seriously affecting flower yield and quality.

Prevention and treatment methods

Light trapping, willow trapping, vibration trapping, etc.

When the damage is serious, you can spray 2000-3000 times of 2.5% cypermethrin solution, which has a good effect, but it must not be sprayed during the flowering period.

Pests: Spur moth

Hazard manifestations

The rose bush may be infested with bark moths from June to August, with the worst outbreak occurring in August. They will chew on the leaves, causing damage to the leaves, and in severe cases, the leaves will become net-like. And the wound is easy to get infected and cause disease.

Prevention and treatment methods

In winter, check the rose branches for insect eggs and cut them off in time to eliminate the source of infection.

When insect pests are serious, spray pesticides such as malathion emulsifiable concentrate and fulin emulsifiable concentrate.

Pests: Aphids

Hazard manifestations

Roses grown at home are often harmed by aphids. When the disease occurs, the leaves are densely covered with white insects, and the leaves gradually wilt and turn black. Flowers will also suffer and wither prematurely.

Prevention and treatment methods

Combined with pruning, the dead flowers, diseased branches and dead leaves should be thoroughly cleaned up.

When a small number of aphids are found, they can be flushed with clean water, which not only kills the aphids but also cleans the leaves, improves the ornamental value and promotes the respiration of the leaves. When a large number of aphids are found, isolate the plants immediately and spray fungicides.
