What to do if the Jade Plant has root rot

What to do if the Jade Plant has root rot

1. Inspection

The first thing we need to do is check the root rot condition of the plant to see if the situation is serious, whether the scope of the root rot is too large, and whether it can continue to survive. If it can, we can save it. If not, we can only choose to give up.

2. Root pruning

At this time, what we need to do is cut off the rotten roots, and the rotten branches and leaves should also be cut off. You need to be careful when pruning. You must make sure to prune it cleanly, and when pruning, you can extend it appropriately towards the normal branches and leaves, so that there will be no rotten branches left.

3. Repotting

After pruning, we need to see if the pot is suitable for it. When the size of the plant is not suitable for the size of the pot, we need to change the pot. Small ones should be paired with small pots, and large ones should be paired with large pots. You must not put too small seedlings in a pot that is too large, otherwise the water will drain away very slowly, and the roots will rot again.

4. Watering

After changing the pot, what we need to do is control the watering. We cannot water it too much, and we must also control the time. If it is autumn and winter, watering at noon is feasible, but if it is spring and summer, it can only be done in the morning and evening.

5. Ventilation

Ventilation is necessary, especially when it has rotted, we must ensure its ventilation, so that it can recover quickly and grow better. It is difficult for it to grow well if it is placed in a poorly ventilated environment.
