Causes and treatments of yellow leaves of Christmas cactus

Causes and treatments of yellow leaves of Christmas cactus

1. The sun is too strong

1. Reason: Christmas cactus likes to grow in an environment with sufficient light, but it is not resistant to direct sunlight. If you place it in direct sunlight during maintenance, its leaves may turn yellow due to sunburn.

2. Treatment method: Usually place it in a location with sufficient scattered light. If its leaves turn yellow due to the sun, you need to cut off the yellow leaves with scissors, and then move it to a semi-shaded place to wait for it to recover.

2. Insufficient Fertilization

1. Reason: It is a flower that likes fertilizer very much, so it should be fertilized in time during maintenance. If fertilizer is not applied for a long time during its growing season, its leaves may turn yellow due to lack of nutrients.

2. Treatment method: prepare some compound fertilizer, dilute it with clean water and pour it into the flower soil. After that, increase the frequency of fertilization to 1-2 times a month to provide it with nutrients.

3. Excessive watering

1. Reason: It likes to grow in a slightly humid environment, but is not suitable for growing in overly moist soil for a long time. If you overwater it, its roots may become waterlogged, causing yellow leaves.

2. Treatment method: First dig it out of the original flower soil, and use scissors to cut off the roots that have turned black and rotten and the leaves that have turned yellow. Then prepare some new soil that is not easy to accumulate water, plant the plants in it, and place them in a ventilated place for maintenance.
