Why are the leaves of Monstera turning yellow?

Why are the leaves of Monstera turning yellow?

1. Soil compaction

Monstera is suitable for growing in soil with good permeability. If the soil used is not suitable, or the cultivation soil becomes compacted, it will affect the air permeability and drainage performance. In such an environment, it is difficult for the roots of the plant to breathe normally and it is difficult for water to be discharged, which will cause yellow leaves. Therefore, it is necessary to turn the soil or replace the new potting soil.

2. Improper watering

It is suitable for growing in humid places. Do not water it too much during maintenance. Too much water will cause the roots to rot and the leaves to turn yellow. On the contrary, you can't water it too little. If it lacks water for a long time, it will grow poorly and its leaves will turn yellow. Watering should be done reasonably, and do not water when the soil is not dry.

3. Adjust the temperature

The plant is very afraid of cold, and the indoor temperature cannot be too low. If the temperature of the maintenance environment is below 5°C, the plant will be frostbitten, and the leaves will turn yellow. It needs to be moved to a warm place as soon as possible, and try to adjust the temperature to around 10℃.

4. Lack of nutrients

Monstera needs proper fertilization during its growth period. If it is not fertilized for a long time, it will be difficult for its leaves to form chlorophyll, which will cause yellow leaves. Some fertilizer should be applied to it as soon as possible, and an appropriate amount of alum fertilizer water can be applied.
