What to do if the leaves of ginseng ficus turn yellow

What to do if the leaves of ginseng ficus turn yellow

1. Change pots and soil

Reason: If the soil of the plant is not changed for a long time or the soil used is inappropriate, the root system cannot absorb and adapt well. Its leaves easily turn yellow, become listless, and grow weakly.

Solution: Replace the potting soil in time. The soil should be fertile, loose and well-drained. In addition, the plants must be disinfected before being potted and a small amount of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers must be added to supplement nutrients.

2. Change water in time

Reason: If the water of ginseng fig cultivated in water is not changed for a long time, bacteria will breed in it, affecting the absorption of the root system and causing root rot. At this time, the leaves will turn yellow and dry up.

Solution: Change the water as soon as possible, cut off the damaged roots, disinfect them and then put them back in. In addition, it is best to use rainwater or lake water, which usually needs to be changed every three to five days.

3. Control temperature

Reason: It is very sensitive to temperature and will grow faster in a warm environment. If the temperature is below 6 degrees, it is easy to get frostbite, and the leaves will turn yellow and become soft.

Solution: When the temperature drops in winter, move the plants to a heated place and keep the temperature between 18 and 33 degrees.

4. Reduce fertilization

Reason: If too much fertilizer is applied during maintenance, the roots may be easily burned or even rotted, which will be reflected on the leaves and cause yellowing.

Solution: Reduce the amount of fertilizer and dilute it with water when applying fertilizer. If the situation is serious, stop fertilizing and remove the plant from the pot and replace the soil.
