Why are the leaves of the five-color plum turning yellow?

The reason why the leaves of five-color plum turn yellow

Cold

The five-color plum is native to tropical regions. We all know the temperature in tropical regions. Malaysians were still wearing short sleeves when we were wearing big cotton-padded jackets from Northeast China. Therefore, after being introduced into my country for cultivation, flower lovers will worry about the wintering problem of the five-color plum. Of course, such concerns are necessary.

In the family cultivation of Prunus armeniaca in my country, the leaves of Prunus armeniaca have died due to freezing in winter. Especially for seed seedlings or cuttings, if the temperature is lower than 8 degrees Celsius in winter, they will suffer from frostbite. In spring, the leaves will always wilt and turn yellow, and they will lose all their vitality.

Lack of light

Prunus armeniaca is a light-loving plant and requires full sun care. If there is a lack of light, the plant will grow poorly. If it is the flowering season, it will directly affect the number of flowers and the brightness of the colors. Lack of sunlight in winter will directly cause the leaves of the plant to turn yellow, and they will not recover in spring.

Lack of water

The five-color plum is drought-resistant and water-resistant. It has high requirements for water and air humidity during the growing season. If there is a lack of water, the leaves will turn yellow and wilt, or even die.

What to do if the leaves of five-color plum turn yellow

Cut off dead leaves

Cut off the yellow leaves of the five-color plum, and then add a layer of garden soil to the roots. This will protect the roots of the plant. When the weather gets warmer, water and fertilize them together, and the plant will quickly grow strong again.

Enhanced lighting

No matter which season it is, spring, summer, autumn or winter, the five-color plum needs sufficient light. If you grow the plants indoors, you should always move them to a place with sufficient light for photosynthesis. In places where there will be long periods of rainy weather, you need to avoid rain and take time to expose the plants to the sun.
