In recent years, the goose breeding industry has become increasingly popular, and the market benefits are relatively high, so in rural areas, many people have begun to engage in goose breeding. Let’s learn how to raise geese. 1. Goose house environment Providing a suitable living environment for goslings is crucial. Before starting breeding, thoroughly clean and disinfect the goose house, especially those places that have not been used for a long time or have been used to raise other livestock. Carry out sterilization and disinfection at least twice to reduce the risk of bacterial infection. 2. Temperature of goose house Goslings are very sensitive to temperature, so the temperature of the goose house must be well controlled. The indoor temperature should be kept above 25 degrees Celsius, especially in the two weeks after the goslings hatch, when artificial insulation is required. In cold weather, special attention should be paid to insulation, and ventilation of the goose house should be ensured to maintain oxygen supply and remove harmful gases. At the same time, attention should also be paid to insulation during ventilation. 3. Drinking water management Goslings need to drink water before eating. About 24 hours after hatching, goslings will show a need for water. Place the goslings in shallow water for a few minutes to acclimate, or place warm water in front of them ( glucose or vitamins can be added to help clear the stomach). Ensure the water quality is safe to avoid infection and death of goslings. At the same time, pay attention to the density of drinking water to prevent pecking each other. 4. Feeding After the goslings have drunk water three times, they can start feeding. Initially, you can use young green leaves, corn meal, broken rice grains or special goose feed . Avoid feeding too dry food to prevent the goslings from drinking a lot of water due to thirst and dying. As the goslings grow, gradually increase the frequency and amount of feeding, gradually transition from multiple meals to three or four normal meals, and gradually increase from a small amount to a normal amount. After ten days, green fodder can account for about 80% of the feed, but feeding should be planned to avoid overfeeding. 5. Stocking management After two weeks, the goslings can start free-range feeding. The first time you release the fish, choose a sunny and warm day and feed them before releasing them. Guide the goslings to open grasslands , let them eat grass and bask in the sun to adapt to the external environment. At least twice a day, about forty minutes each time. As the age increases, gradually increase the frequency and duration of stocking. In general, raising geese requires patience and care, regular cleaning of the goose house, and proper grouping and raising of geese to prevent fighting. Newly hatched goslings are injected with goose plague immune serum to enhance their resistance.
