What soil is suitable for growing roses?

Rose Suitable Soil

Roses like plenty of sunlight and can withstand cold during their growth. Roses need to be placed in a well-ventilated place during their growth. At the same time, roses are afraid of waterlogging at the roots, so it is best to choose slightly acidic soil for planting.

The soil used for roses should be mainly fluffy and breathable. Usually, we can use ordinary soil, and then add some wood ash or burning coal slag and mix it.

What soil to use for growing roses

1. Soil with good drainage: Roses are flowers that are afraid of waterlogging. When planting them, you must use soil with good drainage. This way, after watering, water will not easily accumulate in the soil, and it will not be easily affected by waterlogging.

2. Fertile soil: It needs more nutrients to bloom, so it needs to be planted in soil with relatively high fertility. In this way, it can absorb more nutrients from the soil and bloom more flowers.

3. Loose soil: Its roots need to breathe in order to absorb nutrients normally. So it is necessary to plant it in relatively loose soil, because this kind of soil is very beneficial to the breathing of its roots.

4. Weakly acidic soil: It can grow in neutral soil, but it grows better in slightly acidic soil. Therefore, it is best to use soil with a pH slightly lower than 7 to grow it.

How to prepare rose nutrient soil

Ordinary soil mixture: 4 parts of garden soil or soil from under trees + 2 parts of leaf mold, peat soil or pond mud + 2 parts of river sand or coal slag + 2 parts of decomposed pine needles, sawdust or leaves + a little bone meal or superphosphate.

Luxury soil mixture: 5 parts of ruby soil + 2 parts of leaf mold + 2 parts of dry sheep dung balls or cow dung soil + 1 part of wood ash or bone meal.
