How to care for money tree in winter? How to survive the winter without heating?

1. Increase lighting

The money tree needs sufficient light at any time, especially in winter. Especially when the climate is relatively cold, allowing the plants to receive light can increase the ambient temperature, which is very helpful for wintering. Moreover, the light in winter is very soft, so there is no need to worry about the leaves getting sunburned. You can put it in the sun all day.

2. Keep warm and protect against cold

In order to ensure that the money tree can safely survive the winter, you must pay attention to keeping it warm. Before winter, you can add some phosphorus and potassium fertilizers to improve its cold resistance. If it's warmer indoors, you can move it in and let it grow in a warmer place. If the indoor temperature is not high enough, you can put a plastic bag on the top of the plant to keep it warm.

3. Control watering

The money tree needs a certain amount of water to grow, but in winter, due to the relatively low temperature, the growth of the plant slows down and the demand for water decreases, so the amount of water must be controlled when watering. Generally, watering once every 20-30 days is sufficient. The water temperature should be close to room temperature, do not use cold water for watering. If it is tap water, you need to wait for a few days until the chlorine evaporates before watering again.

4. Stop fertilizing

Although you can fertilize the money tree before winter, you must stop fertilizing in winter. If you continue to apply fertilizer, the fertilizer will accumulate in the soil and harm the root development of the plant when it grows again in the spring of the following year. Of course, if the growing environment is relatively mild, you can continue to fertilize to allow the plants to grow better.
