How to propagate and raise peony

How to propagate and raise peony

1. How to breed

The propagation method of peony is very simple, mostly by root cuttings. Cut the roots into 5 to 8 cm sections and insert them directly into pure fine sand. Be careful not to dig too deep, about 3 cm deep into the soil. In the later stage, remember to spray water frequently to keep it moist. Generally, new shoots will grow in two weeks. When the new sprouts grow to 3-5 cm, they can be transplanted and will soon grow into new plants.

2. How to raise

1. Potting soil: It has strong adaptability and garden soil can meet the needs. However, if it is potted, it is recommended to mix leaf mold, garden soil, river sand and an appropriate amount of bone meal. This will have a high degree of looseness, strong drainage ability and sufficient nutrients, which is more conducive to growth.

2. Light: It likes light, so you can put it in a well-lit place to get more sun. If there is a lack of light, the plant will tend to grow too tall and the flowers will be sparse. Make sure to expose it to sunlight for at least 4 hours a day.

3. Temperature: It has very low temperature requirements. It can withstand high temperatures and has a certain degree of cold resistance. Therefore, there is no need to worry about the temperature. It can be placed outdoors in summer and winter and will last safely.

4. Fertilizer and water: It likes fertilizer and water. Just keep the soil moist at ordinary times, no water is needed. During the peak growing season, compound fertilizer should be applied regularly to ensure sufficient nutrients. Winter is the dormant stage, so just stop applying fertilizer.
