How to propagate jasmine by cuttings

How to propagate jasmine by cuttings

1. Introduction to cuttings

This is a breeding method that we are all familiar with. It is also called "cuttings" or "cuttings", which means inserting a certain section of the plant into a certain substance, waiting for it to grow roots, sprout, and then continue to grow. The survival rate is relatively high. For the plant we are going to talk about today, we mainly choose its branches to operate, which is a kind of cutting, called "branch cutting".

2. Specific methods

1. Time

Generally speaking, we choose to perform the operation in spring because it is warmer and not too high at this time, and the temperature is just right. 2. Preparation

In order to improve the survival rate of cuttings, the selection of materials is very critical. The selection principle is relatively simple, that is, those branches that are strong, not attacked by pests and diseases, and are as thick as possible. Alternatively, you can also choose a top tip. As for the height, about ten to twelve centimeters will be enough.

2. Matrix

This step is also very critical. What needs to be considered are the quality of drainage, the amount and type of nutrients contained, the air permeability, etc. Taking all these factors into consideration, we can choose sandy loam.

3. Specific operations

First, we need to cut off all the leaves on the lower half of the selected branches, leaving only a pair of leaves at the top. After processing, insert it into the prepared matrix. Ensure the temperature and humidity are appropriate, and wait for about five to sixty days for roots to grow, which means it is a success.
