How many leaves does Clivia grow in a year?

1. How many leaves does it grow in a year?

Generally speaking, the number of leaves of this plant follows a fixed pattern at different times. When it is still a seedling of about a year, it has four or five leaves. When the seedlings are about two years old, there should be ten to eleven pieces. After three years, it will be a big seedling, and should have sixteen to seventeen petals. Under normal circumstances, the plant can sprout one to three pairs of leaves a year. If you want it to bloom, more leaves should sprout. If it is less than seven petals, it may not sprout or bloom. Some mature orchids (those that are sexually mature and have bloomed) can grow eight to ten leaves a year.

2. Are more leaves better?

Some friends think that the more leaves a plant has, the better it will grow. In fact, this is not the case. Having less is certainly not good, as it indicates that there is something wrong with our maintenance. However, the number of leaves must be limited, too many is not good either. In fact, it is easy to understand. The more leaves there are, the more is consumed. So, if all the nutrients are supplied to the leaves, how can it have enough nutrients to grow flowers? According to experienced people, a plant can bloom normally with twelve leaves, and sixteen is optimal.

3. Reasons for not growing leaves

(1) First, the plant may have root rot. Then, the supply of nutrients cannot be guaranteed normally. So, if you have this problem, you can check whether there is any root rot.

(2) Then there is the issue of soil quality. If the flower soil is alkaline, it will inhibit the absorption of nutrients and prevent new leaves from growing.
