How to grow Cordyceps sinensis

How to grow Cordyceps sinensis

1. Watering correctly

In the cultivation of Cordyline, watering is very important. It is very sensitive to water, so watering must be reasonable. During the growing season, the plant’s water needs must be fully met and it cannot lack water. During the dry period in summer, in addition to watering, it is also necessary to spray water regularly to maintain good air humidity. Although water is needed during the growing period, if too much water is given and water accumulates in the pot, it can cause the roots to rot, resulting in yellowing and falling leaves.

2. Timely topdressing

Fertilizer is indispensable in growth and cultivation, otherwise it will lead to poor growth and yellowing and weakening of leaves. During the period of vigorous growth, fertilizer can be applied every half a month.

3. Reasonable exposure to light

Cordyline is relatively shade-tolerant, but it needs a certain amount of sunlight during its growth. It can be supplemented with scattered light during the normal growing period, and can be placed in a sunny place in winter to receive sufficient sunlight.

4. Ensure the temperature

Cordyline has a strong adaptability to temperature. The suitable temperature for its growth is around 20-25℃. It needs to be sprayed with water to cool down in summer. It has a certain cold resistance, but the growth temperature is best kept above 5 degrees Celsius.

5. Soil requirements

Suitable soil is the basic condition for growth. It can provide loose, breathable, well-drained sandy soil to maintain sufficient nutrients. It is best to choose neutral soil, which can be mixed with leaf mold, garden soil, and coarse sand.
