How to grow azalea (introduction to home growing method)

How to grow azalea (introduction to home growing method)

1. Matrix

When growing azaleas, you should prepare a suitable growth medium for it, which should be breathable, loose, acidic soil. For home breeding, you can mix garden soil, leaf mold and river sand in a ratio of 4:3:3, and you need to change the soil after 1-2 years of maintenance.

2. Watering

It has certain requirements for soil moisture. Usually, if it is cultivated in the open field, it can be watered every 2-3 days. If the weather is very hot, you can water it more frequently. Whether in winter or summer, the water temperature used should not be too different from the soil temperature.

3. Temperature

The temperature needs to be adjusted during maintenance because it likes a warm environment, so the temperature cannot be too low, generally just keep it at 20℃. Even at its highest, the temperature needs to be controlled below 32°C, otherwise its growth will be affected.

4. Fertilization

In winter and spring, you need to apply some base fertilizer to it. Spring and autumn are the times when it grows more vigorously, so you should apply fertilizer about once every 10 days. You can use a thin cake fertilizer. Apply fertilizer lightly before winter.

5. Pruning

Under normal circumstances, during the growing season, sick and weak branches, overlapping branches, and branches that grow too densely should be pruned off. In addition, the withered flowers should be trimmed off, which will help it bloom better.
