Cutting method of sub-waxwood

Cutting method of sub-waxwood

1. Temperature requirements

Although there are not many restrictions on the time for cuttings of ash wood, it is best to choose summer and autumn to ensure that the temperature can be stable at around 18-30 degrees Celsius. Because it is a tropical plant, this temperature range is most suitable, and it is also very beneficial for the plant's later growth recovery.

2. Cut branches

Before taking cuttings, the selection of branches is of course very important. First, observe the growth of the entire plant, and then select the most advantageous branches from it. It is best to choose branches that are full, substantial, and full of vitality. Such branches can ensure the possibility of survival and are also conducive to recovery and growth. It is best to have a few leaves on the branches, which can synthesize nutrients under the action of chlorophyll. The length should be about 10 cm, which is more suitable.

3. Start cuttings

After cutting the branches, put them aside to dry first. When the bottom is a little dry, you can start cuttings. In this process, the matrix is prepared and pure vermiculite and perlite can be used. Once all these steps are prepared, you can start taking cuttings. Insert the prepared branches into the substrate, ensuring a certain water content. It will take about 2-3 weeks for the roots to take shape.
