Cultivation methods and precautions of Philippine oil fruit

Cultivation methods and precautions of Philippine oil fruit

1. Soil

The Philippine oil fruit does not have high requirements for soil conditions, is alkali-resistant, and grows better in fertile, moist, well-drained acidic soil. When planting, you can apply some base fertilizer to the soil to increase the nutrients in the soil.

2. Lighting

It loves sunlight and will grow better in a location with plenty of light. You can place it on a balcony or in a well-lit and ventilated place outdoors for maintenance.

3. Temperature

It is suitable for growing in warm environments and is not cold-resistant. The most suitable temperature for its growth is 15-25℃. After entering winter, the temperature must be at least 9℃. It grows best in a greenhouse at 5-10℃.

4. Watering

It is suitable for planting in a humid environment and needs to be supplemented with sufficient water. It is best to keep the soil moist at all times. Water it when it is dry, and make sure to water it thoroughly without any accumulation of water. Except in winter, it is sufficient to water the plant once every 2-3 days. In winter, it is sufficient to water the plant once every 4-6 days in appropriate amounts.

5. Fertilization

It likes fertilizer, so you can apply some base fertilizer appropriately. It is best to apply base fertilizer after harvesting the fruits in autumn. It is recommended to spray more foliar fertilizer and apply less base fertilizer. Fertilization should be combined with spring irrigation and topdressing of chemical fertilizers.
