How to pollinate a cherry tree

How to pollinate a cherry tree

1. Pollination Varieties

Cherry trees require cross-pollination, and co-pollination of different varieties tends to produce sweeter fruit. If you are planting Naong or Binku, you can use varieties such as Huangyu and Da Zi for pollination. If you are planting red lantern or big purple, you can use naweng or topaz for pollination. Naong and Binku are not compatible and cannot pollinate each other. Guahong and Juhong can pollinate each other. In addition, Steinle and Rabins have strong affinity and are good choices for pollination.

2. Artificial pollination

Artificial pollination is the main method of pollination, which is more efficient and allows cherry trees to produce more fruits. If you want to pollinate, you must first make a pollinator. Tie a gauze ball on the top of the wood root and use it to rub the cherry flowers to obtain pollen. When you rub other flowers, you can spread the pollen.

3. Bee Pollination

Bee pollination is an auxiliary method. Compared with manual pollination, it is more convenient, but the fruit set rate is not as high as manual pollination. Generally, wall bees are selected for pollination, and a number of beehives are placed according to the planting area. Place it before flowering so that it can be pollinated in time. It is not effective in rainy weather and requires artificial pollination.
