Why Amaryllis does not bloom?

Why Amaryllis does not bloom?

1. Not yet in time

It takes about 2-3 years for Amaryllis to bloom. If it is in the seedling stage when you buy it home, it is normal for it to bloom. Its underground corm must grow to at least 5cm before it will bloom, so you need to be patient and wait.

2. Lack of light

It needs a lot of light before it blooms, because it is a sunlight-loving plant. If it receives too little light, it will not bloom easily. It needs to be provided with at least 2-3 hours of light every day, and it will only bloom when there is sufficient light.

3. Insufficient nutrition

For Amaryllis to bloom normally, there must be enough nutrients in the soil. If you apply less fertilizer or never change the pot, it may not bloom due to insufficient nutrients. You need to add some fertilizer to it, and apply some phosphorus and potassium fertilizers before it blooms, so that it will bloom only when the nutrients are balanced.

4. Planting too deep

When planting amaryllis, if it is planted too deep, its bulb will not be able to breathe, so its growth will slow down and it will easily not bloom. It only needs to be buried shallowly to make it bloom, with the bulb needing to be exposed 1/3 above the ground.
