Money string beheading tutorial

Money string beheading tutorial

1. Disinfection of instruments

As a succulent plant, the leaves of the money tree grow very closely. Improper operation may scratch the leaves. In order to avoid infection caused by scratches, disinfection of instruments is the first priority. The blades can be boiled in water for disinfection, or they can be wiped and then coated with diluted potassium permanganate solution.

2. Beheading

Choose taller bunches of mulberry, with 2-4 leaves in each section, and cut off the connecting parts of each section. You need to be careful during the beheading process. Since the stem is hard, you need to cut it quickly to avoid damaging the leaves. In addition, if side buds grow at the node position, avoid cutting the head here and move it to the upper or lower position.

3. Post-cut care

After beheading, the leaves of the money tree must be dried in the sun first, usually for 1-2 days. But avoid excessive exposure to the sun to prevent excessive water loss. After the wound heals, you can plant it back in the sand.

4. Transplanting into pots

First, place the leaves of the money tree squarely on the sand or vermiculite and keep it moist. Be sure not to put the leaves upside down, otherwise the shape of the growth will be strange. New roots will grow in about three weeks, and then the plant can be transplanted into loose and fertile potting soil.
