How to grow Dendrobium

How to grow Dendrobium

1. Sunlight

It is native to tropical rainforest areas, where it grows in an environment where sunlight is blocked by tall vegetation. Therefore, there is no need to provide it with too much sunlight when cultivating it. It will grow better in a shady and humid environment. In summer, shading is necessary, as excessive light will affect its growth.

2. Temperature

A higher temperature environment is more suitable for its growth, and a temperature of 15-30℃ is the most suitable. The upper and lower temperatures cannot exceed 10℃, otherwise its growth will be affected to varying degrees. If the temperature is too low, its flowering period will also be affected.

3. Fertilizer

If you want it to grow better, you must ensure that there are certain nutrients in the soil. When potting, you need to mix in some sheep manure and chicken manure, and apply appropriate fertilizers during daily maintenance. Generally, some liquid fertilizer is applied to it, such as potassium dihydrogen phosphate, but the amount of fertilizer should not be too much.

4. Watering

When cultivating, you should water it appropriately. In spring and autumn, you can water it every other week. In summer, you should water it as often as possible, usually once every two to three days. Also, in the relatively cold winter, water control should be done well and the soil should not be too wet.
