1. Choose a seed

Fruit corn is generally propagated and cultivated by sowing. Corn seeds of excellent varieties have higher planting yields and stronger reproductive abilities. It is best to choose plump and healthy corn seeds, which can be planted in the soil after washing and soaking.

2. Choose the soil

Fruit corn prefers loose and fertile soil, so you can select a plot of land with rich trace elements and good drainage in advance, deep plowing in advance, then apply enough base fertilizer, mix it thoroughly with the soil, and then you can sow the seeds in the soil and cover them with an appropriate amount of fine soil.

3. Irrigation and drainage

Water can be applied to fruit corn during the three stages of jointing, heading and filling. Water the base before sowing, water the stalks during the jointing stage, water the ears before heading, and water the grains during the filling stage. During the rest of the growth period, there is no need to irrigate so much. Just take drainage measures in rainy weather.

4. Intertillage and weeding

During the process of fruit corn emerging from seedlings to jointing and ear formation, weeding needs to be carried out 1-2 times. Do not till the soil before and after flowering, as it is easy to damage the rhizomes. The depth of tillage is determined by the humidity. If there is sufficient water, it can be deeper, and if there is less water, shallower tillage is required.

Fruit corn planting precautions

If the environment in which fruit corn grows is poorly ventilated, it will cause disease in the fruit corn, so during maintenance, the plants need to be sprayed with pesticides regularly to eliminate the bacteria on the corn plants. At the same time, the corn also needs to be ventilated regularly to improve the ventilation of the environment so that the corn can grow more vigorously.
