Propagation of Pothos sinensis by leaf cuttings

1. Time Selection

Generally, stem cuttings are used, and many people use leaf cuttings, but the chance of success is also reduced. It has more stringent requirements for the surrounding environment, and the temperature needs to be stably maintained above 20℃. The best seasons are spring and summer, which can ensure a suitable growth range.

2. Cut the leaves

When choosing leaves, it is best to use old leaves. The older the leaves, the greater the chance of survival. Avoid small leaves. After cutting off the leaves, the stem part needs to be processed. Mix the rooting agent in clean water and then soak the petiole in it for about 1 hour. Each leaf can be cut in half to reduce evaporation and reduce water loss.

3. Take cuttings

You can mix humus and coconut shells in the same proportion. The concentration should not be too high. Insert the leaves into the mixture and then spray water on them to keep them moist. Or you can use the hydroponic method. Wash the leaves and insert them into the water. The best depth is about 1.5 cm. If the water is too shallow, the leaves may wilt. If the water is too deep, the petiole may rot.

4. Post-maintenance

After that, the plant can be placed under diffuse light, but not exposed to too strong sunlight.
