When growing camellia, pay close attention to these three points, and the flowers will bloom throughout the season, surpassing the peony.

When growing camellia, pay close attention to these three points, and the flowers will bloom throughout the season, surpassing the peony.

1. Water appropriately

No matter what plant you plant, you must water it in moderation. Camellia is even more so. Camellia itself likes sandy soil, but too much water does not mean that the water circulation becomes better. Too much watering will cause water to be retained between the potting soil. If water accumulates for a long time, the roots of the camellia will rot. The symptoms of the roots will be reflected on the surface of the plant, such as yellowing leaves and falling stamens.

2. Moderate temperature

Because the temperature is relatively low in winter, many friends move camellia from outside to indoors. Friends in the north usually have floor heating in their homes, but high temperatures are actually not conducive to plant growth. This temperature difference in the soil will make the plants more sensitive, so it is better to ensure the optimal temperature for growing plants, which is just around 20 degrees. When moving the camellia back indoors, do not place it next to the heater; try to place it on an indoor balcony.

3. Fertilizer should be light

No matter what season the camellia blooms, the fertilizer should not be thick. Try to choose thin fertilizer water so that the camellia can absorb it better. Camellia cannot be fertilized when it is in bloom, as this will affect the flowering of the plant. If you want to fertilize the plants, Huahua recommends fertilizing during the growing season or when the flowers are withering. On the one hand, it can better promote the flowering of camellia during the growing period, and on the other hand, the plants can replenish fertilizer after the flowers are withered.

Camellia is relatively delicate compared to other plants, so we should pay more attention to its living habits when cultivating it and observe the plant frequently. If we find that the leaves of the camellia are wilting, we must take timely measures to allow the camellia to recover better.
