How to grow five-color plum in spring

How to grow five-color plum in spring

1. Prune frequently

The climate is warm and the sunshine is abundant in spring, which meets the growth conditions and it will grow very fast. In order to prevent the branches from growing too lush, it is necessary to prune the branches that grow particularly fast and affect the plant shape. The pruned branches can be used for cuttings or directly inserted into water and they can survive for a period of time. After pruning, avoid watering the cut to avoid infection.

2. Increase Lighting

It has higher light requirements in spring and needs more light. If the location where it is kept is sunny and bright, there is no need to move it. If the location where it is grown does not receive enough sunlight, it needs to be placed in a location with more sunlight. The temperature in early spring is unstable and cold snaps often occur. Try not to keep it outdoors at this time because it is not frost-resistant and can easily get frostbite.

3. Proper watering

The soil environment for its maintenance should be as moist as possible, but there should be no stagnant water in the soil. It consumes more water in spring, so you need to increase the amount of watering. The frequency of watering is once or twice a week. Before watering, check whether the soil is completely dry. If it is dry, you can water it. If it is not dry, do not water it for the time being.

Do not use freshly tap water for watering. The tap water should be air-dried to release the chlorine in the water before use. You can also use fish farming water, which is a natural fertilizer that not only replenishes water for the plants but also adds nutrients.
