How to grow morning glory in spring

How to grow morning glory in spring

1. Increase lighting

The branches and leaves of morning glory need sufficient light to grow well. If the light brightness is not enough, it will not only affect the growth of its branches and leaves, but also cause poor flowering. Therefore, in spring, it is necessary to ensure at least eight hours of sunshine every day. It can be placed in sunny places such as balconies for maintenance, and try to avoid door gaps, windows and other places. Because the climate in spring is unstable and there is often cold air, it is easy to get frostbite if placed in these places.

2. Proper watering

When watering it, remember not to water it too much. If water accumulates at the roots for a long time, the roots will rot, causing the entire plant to rot. Before watering it, you should observe the condition of the soil first. You can only water it when the soil is completely dry. Each time you water, make sure the water is thoroughly applied, that is, the soil is completely wet. If the temperature is above 15 degrees, water it every other day; if the temperature is below 15 degrees, water it every two days.

3. Adjust the temperature

It is not frost-resistant and will stop growing if the temperature drops below ten degrees. If the temperature drops below three degrees, it will be frostbitten or even frozen to death. The temperature fluctuates greatly in spring, so it is necessary to monitor the temperature and adjust it at any time. Generally speaking, it grows well when the temperature is around 18 degrees.

4. Increase nutrients

In addition to the above three points, when caring for morning glory in spring, you also need to fertilize once a week. You can choose nutrient-rich compound fertilizer. However, fertilizers with too high a concentration should not be used, and they should be diluted before use.
