Differences between Palm and Bamboo

1. Different plant types

The palm tree is a tall tree belonging to the Arecaceae family and the genus Palmae. It is very tall, about 3-10 meters, or even taller. The trunk is cylindrical, with a breast diameter of about 10-15 centimeters.

The bamboo palm is a clumping shrub, which is essentially different from the former and does not belong to the same plant category at all. It is a species of the palm family, palm genus, and is relatively short, growing to about 2-10 meters. The diameter of the stem is only 1.5-3 centimeters, and it has nodes on it.

2. Different leaves

The palm tree is large in size, so its leaves are also very large, with 30-50 deep cracks. The length of the deep cracks alone is about 60-70 cm, and the width is about 2.5-4 cm. A large part of the leaves are round.

The leaves of the bamboo palm are smaller, deeply palmately divided, with 4-10 lobes.

3. Different flowers

The male flowers of the palm tree have no pedicels, are ovoid in shape, and are yellow-green in color. The inflorescence of the female flowers is 80-90 cm long, spherical in shape, and light green in color.

The male flowers of the bamboo palm are oblong and stick-shaped after blooming, while the female flowers are relatively short and a little thick, about 4 mm in length.
