How to grow saxifrage

How to grow saxifrage

1. Maintenance conditions

1. Water: Give the saxifrage an appropriate amount of water, but avoid water accumulation. Just keep the soil in the pot slightly moist. Control the amount of water in winter. It is relatively cold at this time so don't water too much. In summer, you can usually give it more water, keep it moist, and spray the plant with water, otherwise the leaves will dry out.

2. Soil: When breeding, try to use fertile and breathable soil, and do not use soil with high viscosity for maintenance. Generally, if we grow it at home, we can use the soil from the garden mixed with river soil, silt and other soil containing rotten leaves.

3. Fertilization: Generally, we need to apply fertilizer once every half a month to 20 days. We can use diluted decomposed fertilizer, or use special compound fertilizer. Also, water appropriately after fertilizing. Firstly, it will not burn the plants due to high concentration, and secondly, it can clean the leaves and prevent them from being burned and turning yellow by fertilizer.

2. Breeding Methods

1. Sowing: The operation is relatively simple. After the seeds are selected, they can be planted in soil with good drainage and air permeability. It is usually best to sow in early spring, from March to April, and seedlings will grow in half a month to 20 days.

2. Division: Spring and autumn are more suitable for reproduction by division. Usually we can choose some small plants that grow vigorously on stems, trim them and plant them in the culture soil. Finally, you can cover it with a layer of plastic film or glass to maintain proper humidity, and it will take root after 15-20 days.
