Cultivation methods and precautions of rice bamboo

Cultivation methods and precautions of rice bamboo

1. Soil

It likes acidic soil, so pay attention to the pH value. When preparing the soil, you can mix leaf mold and garden soil together. It is best to add an appropriate amount of human manure as base fertilizer, which can supplement nutrients and is beneficial to the later growth of the plant.

2. Watering

When breeding, do not water too frequently to avoid water accumulation. Usually water the plants once every three to five days in spring and autumn. In summer, water is lost quickly, so water them every day. In winter, you need to control watering and only water the plant once every ten days or so.

3. Lighting

It likes light, but is afraid of strong light. Therefore, when caring for it, you should pay attention to avoiding the strong light in summer. You can place it in the light in the other three seasons. With sufficient light, the plant will grow better.

4. Fertilization

Do not apply fertilizer too frequently or excessively during maintenance. Too much fertilizer will cause the plant to grow too tall and affect its appearance. When applying fertilizer, just apply thin fertilizer in small amounts. Fertilize once every month in spring and autumn, and no fertilizer is needed in summer and winter to avoid fertilizer damage caused by high and low temperatures.

5. Notes

Its root system is shallow, so when caring for it, be careful not to use a deep pot, otherwise the roots will easily rot. In addition, attention should be paid to keeping the plants warm in winter. Once the temperature drops below zero, they will easily get frostbite, which will affect their growth.
