Should I use a deep or shallow pot for Amaryllis?

Should I use a deep or shallow pot for Amaryllis?

1. Use a deep or shallow basin

When planting amaryllis in different growth stages, different flower pots are used. If you are cultivating small plants, you can use a shallow pot first, because the root system of the plant is still very small and the growth of the root system will not be hindered by the small pot. However, if you are cultivating mature plants, try to use deep pots. Compared with deep pots, shallow pots have small space and poor water retention capacity, which may affect its normal growth. Of course, you can't use a pot that is too deep. A slightly deeper pot is best.

2. Method of selecting pots

When cultivating Amaryllis, the first requirement for choosing a pot is good air permeability, because the roots of the plant are very afraid of water and are very fragile, and poor material of the pot will not work. It can be grown in a clay pot, and the size of the pot should be appropriate. The volume of the pot should be twice the size of the plant's roots. A pot of this size has enough space for the plant's roots to stretch.

3. Notes

No matter which kind of flower pot you choose, you need to change the pot every year to help the plant grow. Also, do not choose flower pots that are not suitable for its growth just for the sake of aesthetics. For example, it is best not to use porcelain pots or glass pots.
