Hydroponic method of Daphne koreana

Hydroponic method of Daphne koreana

Material selection

Before hydroponics, you need to first choose a container that can hold the branches. It is best if the space is larger and has sufficient oxygen to facilitate rooting.

In addition, if you want to grow it in hydroponics for a long time, you can prepare a beautiful glass container and place it for viewing after it takes root.

Plastic foam board, clean pebbles, and loose soil after swallowing.

Branch selection

Choose strong semi-lignified branches of the current year (the branches are a little green), cut them to a length of 6 to 8 cm, and retain 1 to 2 leaves. The day before cutting the branches, you can use a sharp knife to make a circle on the cut to speed up wound healing.

Determine the time

The hydroponics of Osmanthus fragrans can be carried out all year round, but the season with the highest survival rate is still in summer. The best time to visit is in late July in Shandong, and in early July in the south. Because the branches tend to mature at this time and take root faster.

How to operate

First, split the lower end of the branch in the middle and use small stones to separate the two halves of the branch.

Then soak the branches in disinfectant for about 10 minutes and take them out after disinfection.

Depending on the thickness of the branches, insert several small holes on the plastic board and insert the branches into them, with about 3 to 4 centimeters of the lower end of the branches exposed.

Then place the plastic foam in a container filled with water, with the bottom of the branches touching the water surface, and place it in a sunny place indoors.

Maintenance

Change the water every 2 to 3 days. Spring water or river water is best, or tap water that has been stored for a few days. When changing the water, moss may appear around the container. It needs to be cleaned and disinfected with potassium permanganate solution.

If the weather is hot, add water to the container and sprinkle water on the ground in time. Generally, when the temperature is between 22 and 28 degrees Celsius, roots will take shape in about 50 days.
