When should I change the soil for Clivia in autumn?

When should I change the soil for Clivia in autumn?

1. Soil replacement time

When maintaining it, the soil needs to be changed once a year, either in spring or autumn. Autumn should be between September and October, when the temperature is just right and plants can adapt to the new environment more quickly. It is not good to plant too early or too late. If it is too early, the temperature will be too high, and if it is too late, the temperature will be too low and the plants will be frozen. In addition, spring should be between April and May, avoiding the high temperature environment in summer, otherwise it will affect normal growth.

2. Soil replacement method

1. Remove the flower from the pot and trim the roots: Cut off water for a period of time before changing the soil. When the soil is slightly dry, turn the flower pot upside down. This will make it easier to remove the flower from the pot and reduce damage to the root system. After that, you need to prune the root system and remove the old roots and rotten roots to facilitate better absorption of nutrients.

2. Prepare the soil: Prepare suitable potting soil that is air-permeable, loose and fertile. You can mix leaf mold, sawdust and garden soil together. Before potting, lay a layer of gravel at the bottom of the pot to improve drainage.

3. Fill the pot with soil: After the soil is prepared, you can pot it. Just be sure to cover the entire root system, leaving enough space for later management. Don't rush to water after planting. Wait three or four days before adding an appropriate amount of water. It will recover in about a week.
