How to grow osmanthus

1. Watering in time

If you want to grow osmanthus well, you should control the correct amount of watering. You cannot give it too much water, nor can it lack water. The cultivated soil should be kept moist and the plants need to be sprayed with water in hot weather. There should be sufficient water in spring and autumn, but in winter, water needs to be controlled, and it should be done at noon.

2. Sufficient light

The plant needs sufficient light support to grow. If the cultivation environment is too dark, its growth rate will become very slow and the amount of flowering will also decrease. However, during the high temperatures in summer, you should pay attention to shade and water the plants appropriately, and avoid exposing the plants to strong sunlight.

3. Simple pruning

During the cultivation period, proper pruning is indispensable, so the branches should be pruned in autumn. The main thing is to cut off some crossed branches, overlapping branches, diseased branches and some weak branches. This will not only make the plant more ornamental, but also save nutrients for the growth of strong branches.

4. Update the potting soil

During the growth period, osmanthus will absorb nutrients in the soil, and many old and rotten roots will appear. Therefore, the potting soil must be renewed after about 2 years of cultivation. Replace the plant with new nutrient soil and cut off any unhealthy roots, which will be more beneficial to its growth.
