Niu Dali Planting Place

Rhizoma Dioscoreae is a deep-rooted crop with strong adaptability. It is not demanding on climate and soil, and is resistant to drought and thin ridges. It can be grown on mountains, slopes, and flat lands, and requires relatively extensive management.

Niudali is suitable for planting on sunny hillsides. It can be planted in both the north and the south, but it is best produced in the south. Famous Niudali producing areas in my country include Fujian, Hunan, Guangdong, and Guang. When purchasing, you can give priority to Niudali produced in these places.

Conditions for growing Niu Dali

Rhizoma Cnidium is a perennial medicinal plant, native to the grass in the mountains. It likes warmth and moisture and is afraid of waterlogging. It is suitable for growing in areas with an average annual temperature of 18℃ ~ 24℃, rainfall of more than 1200ml and slightly longer sunshine time. As wild resources are gradually being picked and exhausted, various places are now developing artificial introduction and cultivation.

Key points of planting and management of Niu Dali

1. Land preparation

Rhizoma Dioscoreae is suitable for growing in sandy loam with deep soil layer, loose soil and good drainage. Generally, when deciding to plant it, it is necessary to observe whether the local soil and field are suitable for the growth of Rhizoma Dioscoreae.

2. Planting

The seed propagation method adopted for Niu Dali planting is to collect the pods when they are ripe, take out the seeds after drying, and select the seeds with full grains, maturity, no damage and no disease to sow.

3. Field management

The growth of Rhizoma Cynanchum is slow, and there are many weeds in the seedling stage, which affects its absorption of nutrients and makes its growth even slower. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out inter-row cultivation and weeding according to the field and seedling growth conditions.
