Cultivation methods and precautions of Tillandsia

Cultivation methods and precautions of Tillandsia

1. Breeding methods

1. Substrate: It is very important whether the substrate used for cultivation is suitable. Try to ensure that it is loose and has good air permeability. Slightly acidic soil is most suitable. No matter what kind of soil is used, it must be disinfected before use.

2. Temperature: Try to create a suitable environment for it. During the day, the temperature should be maintained at around 21-28℃. It is also okay to lower the temperature slightly at night, but it is best to maintain it at 18-21℃. However, the highest temperature should not exceed 35℃, and the lowest temperature should not be lower than 5℃.

3. Water: There must be enough water during its growth period, and it should be watered in time. Usually, the leaf cup should be watered once every 5 days or so, and the soil should be watered once every half a month. After entering winter, there is no need to water if the soil is not dry.

2. Precautions

1. Leaf picking: During the maintenance period, the plants should be checked regularly. If yellow and dry old leaves are found, they should be removed as soon as possible, as this will increase the loss of fertilizer and affect the appearance.

2. Repotting: Usually the pot should be changed every 4 months after planting. Be careful not to press the roots of the plant too tightly, otherwise it will hinder air permeability. After repotting, the plant should be watered thoroughly and maintained for a month before fertilizing.
