Golden thread vine is both a traditional Chinese medicine and a good landscape plant, and the current market demand is still large. However, in recent years, due to the human destruction of wild golden thread vine resources, there is a shortage of golden thread vine on the market. Many people want to artificially cultivate golden thread vine. So, which month is suitable for planting golden thread vine? Let’s take a look below. 1. Which month is suitable for planting golden thread vine? Golden thread vine is suitable for planting in spring and autumn. In spring, it is planted from March to May, and in autumn, it is planted from September to November. Because the temperature during these two time periods is suitable for the growth and development of golden thread vine. If you grow golden thread vine in a greenhouse , you can plant it all year round because the temperature in the greenhouse can be controlled by yourself. 2. How to plant golden thread vine? 1. Site selection and land preparation Golden thread vine likes a cool, moist, well-ventilated environment and has high requirements for soil. It is generally planted in deep, loose, fertile, well-drained sandy loam or humus loam. After selecting the land, deep plowing and drying of the soil is required to remove weeds and stones. Then base fertilizer is applied, mainly well-rotted farmyard manure, 2000-3000 kg per mu, and mixed thoroughly with the soil. 2. Propagation and planting There are two ways to propagate golden thread vine: division and cutting. Propagation by division is generally carried out in spring. The mother plant is dug out and divided into several small plants, each with at least 2-3 buds, and then planted with a plant spacing of 10-15 cm. Cutting propagation is carried out in May and June. Select strong branches and cut them into small sections of 10-15 cm in length, each with 2-3 nodes. Then insert them into the soil at a spacing of 5-10 cm between plants and rows, at a depth of 3-5 cm. 3. Field management (1) Watering and drainage: Golden thread vine prefers a humid environment but cannot tolerate waterlogging. During the growing season, keep the soil moist, but avoid standing water. Generally, water the plants every 2-3 days, and pay attention to drainage and waterlogging prevention during the rainy season. (2) Fertilization: Golden thread vine likes fertilizer, but it should be applied in moderation to avoid excessive fertilizer that may cause root burn. During the growth period, apply diluted human and animal manure or compound fertilizer every 10-15 days, with the amount not exceeding 10 kg per mu. (3) Weeding and loosening the soil: Weed regularly to keep the field clean and prevent weeds from competing with golden thread vine for nutrients and light. At the same time, loosen the soil regularly to increase soil permeability and promote root development. (4) Pest and disease control : Prevention is the main approach to pest and disease control of golden thread vine, with pesticides sprayed regularly for prevention and control. Common diseases include anthracnose, leaf spot, etc., which can be controlled by spraying 800 times diluted 50% carbendazim wettable powder . Common insect pests include aphids, red spiders, etc., which can be controlled by spraying 1000 times diluted 40% oxydemeton-methyl emulsifiable concentrate. 4. Harvesting and processing Golden thread vine is usually harvested in the second year after planting. When the plant grows to a certain height, it can be harvested. When harvesting, be careful to avoid damaging the roots. After harvesting, the golden thread vine needs to be cleaned, dried in the sun, and baked to preserve its medicinal value. That’s it |
